The winding up of a deceased estate is an administrative function, and depending on the value and size of an estate, it may be complex and very expensive. As we choose to keep our premiums low, we specifically exclude this area of the law. However, we recognise that as a beneficiary to an estate you may have a personal right that requires protecting. As a result of this, we restrict the matters covered to the dispute between you and other heirs of a deceased estate.
No, this exclusion applies to both Paralegal services and Insurance Cover.
Drafting simple Wills is available to all Members. Drafting complicated Wills is available to GoldPlus and Platinum Members internally. Additionally, Panel Attorney drafted Wills are exclusively available to Platinum Members.
Storage services are available for all Wills for GoldPlus and Platinum Members.
- Every year, the Law Society of South Africa runs an initiative known as National Wills Week.
- During National Wills Week, attorneys and law firms who registered to take part of the initiative will assist with providing basic Wills free of charge as a once-off service.
- This free service during National Wills Week does not include any complicated Wills or follow-up consultations.
