LETTER FROM THE CEO

Dear Member,

As we continue our celebration of LegalWise's 40th anniversary, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible support, stories, and reflections we have received from our Members and partners. Your messages of appreciation highlight the profound impact of our purpose over the past four decades. This celebration is ongoing, and we encourage you to share your LegalWise journey with us. Our 40-year milestone is not just about reflecting on the past; it is about forging ahead with renewed dedication.

As part of our celebrations, we had the privilege of honouring some of our most loyal Members. In recognition of their unwavering loyalty, we awarded them Lifetime Membership. This is our way of expressing our deep appreciation for their trust and commitment over the years. Their long-standing support embodies the values we stand for and we are truly grateful to have them as part of our LegalWise family.

March is Human Rights Month, historically linked to events that occurred in Sharpeville on 21 March 1960, when ordinary citizens rose up in unison to proclaim their rights. This date has become a symbolic day in our country's history, commemorated each year as a reminder of our treasured rights. We have committed the last four decades to defending and enforcing the rights of our Members by providing access to justice. This year in celebration of our 40th Anniversary as well as Human Rights Day, we aim to take a bold step by opening all our Branches to members of the public on Friday, 21 March 2025 to receive once-off legal advice on an appointment basis. We are now fully booked and unable to schedule further appointments.

Our Community Rewards Programme nomination deadline has been extended to 31 May 2025. Read more about what it entails. Get your nomination form from any of the LegalWise Branches countrywide and either email it to helenf@legalwise.co.za or post it to CSI Department, LegalWise Head Office, P.O. Box 6144, Weltevreden Park, 1715. Use this opportunity to nominate a charity in your community to be a recipient of R40 000!
